Truck and Alligators

Friday night we went over to Rach's house and hung out with some friends.  It was such a good time!  I love when Josiah can play with other kids. I wish I would have taken some pictures but Amber did get one of Cooper and Josiah I just wish Presley, Mady and Adalyn would have been in it too.  They all played so good together!!!!

Josh found a truck online that he wanted to look at so we loaded up and headed over to Alabama.  (FYI- car shopping with two kids is not fun!! haha!)  He saw it and fell in love with it but they wouldn't give him the deal he wanted.  We went to get lunch and they called with the deal that he wanted.  We headed over to the splash park for Josiah but they had turned the water off so I shopped a little bit.  I got two shirts and Josh got a truck.....what am I doing wrong!!  Haha!

I am so proud of him!  He deserves this truck.  He has been driving my old car from high school around for six years.  He worked so hard for this truck and I love that we were able to buy it for him!!

After signing the papers on the truck we rushed home to head to a Blue Wahoos game.  Josh's Aunt had four tickets that she wasn't using so we took Rach and Bryan!  It was our first one and we will definitely be going back.

At their Saturday games they do fireworks after the game.  This was seriously one of the best firework shows I have seen!  I can't believe they do it every Saturday.  Next time we are going to take Josiah, I think he would have fun!

Sunday we headed back over to Alabama to Alligator Alley.  Josiah likes alligators and this was perfect for him.  It was a little too hot but we enjoyed it.  There is over 21 acres of land with 400 alligators on it.  Some of them were HUGE.

Adalyn enjoyed the car ride over with Granny talking to her!  She is smiling a ton now and is so stinkin' cute!!!!

Hope y'all enjoyed your weekend!  We did!!  We have a busy week with Josh having finals!  One more semester and he will be done with his Masters!!!!!

Josiah's "quirks"

I don't know if it is every three year old but Josiah is totally weird sometimes!!! Haha!  I love him with my whole heart but he has some funny "quirks" he does.

  • He can't stand for his hair to be hot.
  • He doesn't like to get messy at all. (sometimes when I ask him what he wants to eat he bases it off of if he will get messy or not!)
  • His shirt can't be too big.
  • His shorts can't be too long.
  • He puts his shoes on right when he gets up in the morning.
  • Every time he walks by Adalyn he has to kiss her and hold her hand!!!
  • He has to have short socks.
  • He wears tennis shoes 99% of the time.  AND they have to be his orange ones.
  • He would literally wear the same pair of shorts over and over and over if I would let him.  (and might I add they are the shorts that I like the least)
  • If he gets the tiniest drop of water/juice/whatever that makes his clothes wet...he totally freaks out.

He is so funny these days.  I love everything about him, but some of these are about to drive me crazy!  Especially the clothes issue.  I have been letting him wear whatever he wants to around the house..but when he starts school in August its going to be tough!  I really hope he isn't going to be OCD.  Maybe this is just a phase and he will grow out of most of them soon, well except the whole kissing Adalyn thing.  They are just too precious!! :)

If you really knew me..

You would know that God and my family are my passion.
-if you are a friend of mine, you fit into the family category.  I would do anything for the people I love.

You would know that I believe in miracles.
-I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for God perfoming a miracle!

You would know that I am shy around new people.

You would know that I love rap music.
-Although, I don't listen to it much because I don't want Josiah going around singing "Apple bottom jeans"

You would know I sometimes put on that I am harcore, but really I am a softy.

You would know that I hate to clean.
-I love a clean house, but I would much rather play cars with Josiah or talk baby talk to Adalyn!

You would know I love to take pictures.
-But I rarely get them developed.  I am working on this though.

You would know that I am fearful of someone close to me dying.
-I haven't ever had anyone really really close to me pass away and this totally freaks me out.

You would know that I am a worrier.
-Most big issues I can give to God, but I have a hard letting God deal with the little problems.

You would know that as I get older I am finding out what is really important in life and I am loving life more and more!

Josiah's Birthday Part 2

Josiah's birthday was on a Sunday this year!  We left Josiah's present out in the living room so when he woke up he would see it!!!  This boy is obsessed with policemen/jail.  He was in heaven once he realized this was for him!!

I made him pancakes for breakfast and lit a candle for him to blow out!  He loved it!

This year his party was on his actual birthday!  We usually do Saturday birthdays but his birthday fell on the day that the Blue Angels were flying on the beach and a lot of our friends/family go to watch them so we thought it was better to move it to Sunday!

The past two years we have had his party at my parents' house.  They have a pool and we attempted pool parties but every year it has rained so I decided this year I wouldn't take the chance of not being able to swim. We had it here at a "bounce house" place.  AND guess what??  It was sunny!!  Haha..it always works out that way doesn't it?  That's okay though because we had a great time!  The best part was I didn't really have to do anything!!  I brought a few decorations but not much and the party people at the bounce place did everything!!!

I got these cute little construction hats from Amazon.com and the little aprons I bought at Home Depot.  They were so cute!

Josiah had a great birthday party and we are so blessed!!  Thank you to everyone that made his day so special!!!

Chicken Bacon Ranch Taquitos

It seems like it has been forever since I cooked.  I haven't done much of it since Adalyn was born.  Unless if you count popping some corn dogs in the oven cooking.  Josh and I have been feeling awful from the lack of health food so we decided it was time to go grocery shopping and have a somewhat of a healthy meal plan.  I saw this recipe on Pinterest the other night and thought it sounded amazing!!!

It was so easy and quick to make and you can even freeze them and have them another night.  I didn't know how they were going to turn out so I made half a batch.  I also made my own version of this.

Here is my version (click above for the actual recipe):

2 cans of chicken (in water)  {the actually recipe calls for shredding chicken, but when you are cooking dinner and worrying about kids you don't have time for all that!!}
1/2 stick of cream cheese softened ( (I used Neufchatel cheese)
bacon bits  {actual recipe calls for real bacon, but as I said earlier..I didn't have time to fry up some bacon}
1/2 packet of dry ranch dressing mix
1 cup of pepper jack cheese  {actual recipe called for Monterrey jack cheese, but I thought this gave it some more flavor}
10 - 6 inch tortilla shells
non-stick cooking spray

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

Make sure your cream cheese is soft.  I just threw mine in the microwave for a few seconds.  Mix in chicken, bacon bits, cheese and ranch mix.

Spray cookie sheet.  I then used a cookie scoop to scoop my chicken mixture on my tortilla shell.  I used two big scoops but the recipe calls for 2-3 tbls.  Roll the shells up and put the opening part down on the cookie sheet.  Repeat until all the mixture is gone.

Spray the tops of the tortilla shells with non-stick cooking spray.

Put in the oven for about 10 minutes.

They turned out so good that I brought some leftovers for lunch today!!!  This will be on our future meal plans!

3rd Birthday Part 1

Thursday we went to the Gulfarium with Aunt Pris and Uncle Ray to celebrate Josiah's birthday!  We had such a fun day!  I loved the dolphin show!  Afterwards we went to Fudpuckers to eat.  I haven't been there before.  The food was good and Josiah loved the alligators!  He even got to feed and touch an alligator.  I think that was the highlight of his day!!  I can't believe he will be three on Sunday.  Time sure does fly.  Like he says "Mom, I'm not a baby anymore!!"  No you aren't sweet boy!!  But he will always be my baby!!!

We headed home from Destin and had dinner and cake at Aunt P and Uncle Ray's house.  Every year Aunt P makes a cake for him.

1st birthday - dinosaur cake
2nd birthday - Hammer cakes
3rd birthday - Train cake

What a great day!  I am ready to spend the whole weekend celebrating his birthday!  Even though the other day he told me he didn't want a birthday party....too bad...I already paid for it!!  Haha!  Hope y'all have a great weekend.  We are headed to the beach today/tonight to spend the night so we can see the Blue Angels tomorrow!!!  Then Sunday is Josiah's birthday party!

One month

I'm a little behind!!! Adalyn turned one month almost two weeks ago!!!! She is getting so big! She is still in newborn clothes, sleeps a ton and is an awesome baby!!!! Much more laid back than Josiah!

I'm not sure if I wrote this yet or not, but I'm finding this go around is a lot easier than with Josiah!! I'm not worried about every little thing. Maybe that is why she is so good, because I'm not do stressed..who knows! Anyway, I'm tired!! I wish I could find more time to write. I really do miss it, but we have been extremely busy lately!! I am trying to get things ready for Josiah's party!! I promise I will start updated more as soon as things calm down!!!

Church on TV

Yesterday I turned the tv on and sat down to give Adalyn her bottle. The channel was on a church station so I listened while I fed her. The preacher said something like this...."you spend time with your children, spouse, etc. to love each other more and more and to learn more about each other. This is what each of us should be doing with God." I've known this all along but I never thought of it that way! I pray/talk to God everyday but I have been feeling the need/want to have an even closer relationship with Him.  I want to learn more about God and His word and I want to do more for others I just haven't figured out what, when or how.  I really would like to volunteer somewhere once a month or even bake for a group or something like that but I just haven't found the right thing yet.  Anyway..just rambling!

Hope everyone has a nice Monday!!!

Sweetness

I was trying to get Adalyn's bottle ready as she was crying. Josiah said, it's okay Baby Adalyn, it's okay! Mom, if she cries I will cry!". He is seriously the sweetest big bro ever!!!!

Fourth of July

HAPPY 4th of JULY!!!!!!!

I hope everyone had a great fourth!  We sure did!  Our friend from Kansas was in town and we went over to her dad's house during the day and then headed over to my aunt and uncle's that evening!!  It rained most of the day, but we still had a fun time!!

Josiah loved the fireworks that we had!  He thought they were pretty cool!  He would get so excited when they went off!

iPhone Pictures

This post is going to be all over the place.  I just haven't had time to sit down and write and upload pictures.  For some reason when I upload pictures from my iPhone they don't show up in the order I want them to.

Anyway...here are some random pictures!

This is how we sit most of the day.  Josiah just loves Adalyn so much.  He wants to kiss her and hold her hand ALWAYS!  I hope they stay sweet to each other forever!!

My favorite men!

Adalyn's first birthday party!

Josiah traced his whole name!  I am one proud momma!!  He is so smart!

This is how I take a shower in the mornings! Josiah watches a movie and Adalyn sleeps in her rocker!

Pop Pop had a birthday recently and Josiah loves to help blow out candles!

Life with two kids is amazing so far!  It has been much easier this go around.  I don't feel like I am stressing over every little noise/issue that I did with Josiah.  Don't get me wrong I still get worried...it's just not as bad.  Josiah is such a big helper and Adalyn LOVES to sleep so things have been going pretty great!  I would say overall we have adjusted very well and are enjoying being a family of four!

I will try to get pictures and an update for Adalyn's one month.  And I can't believe Josiah will be three in 13 days!!!!!!
