Last Weekend in February

Friday Josiah and I had a play date! Jaime, Carter, Amber, Cooper, Presley, Wendi, Crystal and Rach came by! I got some pictures on my phone, but they didn't turn out the greatest so I'm not going to post them! We had such a good time! It was nice to see everyone!

Friday night Josh, Josiah and I went to Sonny's for dinner and then Josh and I watched "Due Date" at the house.
Saturday we got up and went to Home Depot to by stuff for our garden. We bought tomatoes, strawberries and cucumbers. I have never grown anything so we will see how it turns out! It will be nice to have some fruits and vegetables, but I mostly did it because I thought Josiah would love to see them grow.
Saturday night Josh and I had planned to go on a date. We dropped Josiah off at my mom and dad's house. We were going to go over to Malbis and eat at California dreaming but decided at the last minute to go to Toro Bravos (a Mexican restaurant in town that we haven't tried before.) Don't laugh, but after we ate we went to Walmart to buy groceries. I know that doesn't sound like a good date but it was nice to go in the grocery store by ourselves and take our time buying groceries. Josiah is always on our mind so we bought him this new basketball goal. I think Josh loves it more than he does! haha!

Sunday Josh and I got up and we cleaned the house and then headed to Church. This is our 2nd time going to Potential Church and I like it a lot. After Church we went and picked up Josiah and put him down for a nap. While he was napping Josh and I started on our garden!! I know it isn't much but it was fun planting it!

This afternoon I decided at the last minute to have some friends over for dinner. Josh and I cooked stir fried rice for Rach, Bryan, Lindsay and Chris!
Hope everyone has a great week!

Heartbroken

My heart breaks. I got new yesterday that Nicole (a girl I grew up with and went to high school with) passed away yesterday.

Nicole and I played softball together when we were in elementary school. She was on my team and we always called her "Shorty" since both of us were named Nicole. We grew apart as the years went on but still talked during high school. I haven't seen Nicole since April of last year. I don't think Nicole met a stranger! She always had a huge smile on her face and knew how to have fun! She lit up a room when she walked in! She touched so many lives with that beautiful smile!
When I first heard the news I was in shock. Thinking that this couldn't be happening. I was angry. Wondering why? I ache for her parents, her best friends and everyone that knew her. I haven't been that close to her in awhile but it is tearing me up inside I can't imagine what it is doing to the people that were so close to her. I can't imagine getting that phone call. But it could happen at any moment. We are not promised tomorrow so why do we act like it? If you care about someone tell them, if you love someone tell them...don't let another day go by.
I am just praying that God gives everyone strength to get through this.
Nicole will be missed by so many!
I am heartbroken...

Baked Goods

I love anything about baked goods. Whether its mixing all the ingredients up, the smell of something baking in the oven or just eating it. I can't help it. I love it. I would bake everyday if I could. There is just something therapeutic about it! Last weekend I baked a Red Velvet Cake for my father-in-law, Monday I baked cupcakes for my boys for Valentines Day and today I am baking a pound cake for Josh's grandpa and Janet.

Here are some pictures of some of the things I have baked recently

But...after today I am giving up baking for a little while. Why you ask?

Because I want to:

A.) fit in a bathing suit (since I was on the old medicine I haven't been able to wear a bathing suit until this year!!!!!!) AND

B.) look like this chick...ok, i'm not going to look like this chick EVER..it doesn't matter how much I quit eating, but a girl can wish!

So here is to more bikini wearing and less baked goods! Its a sad day in our house...I wonder what Josh is going to say when I tell him.....

Weekend Fun!

I look forward to the weekends because I get to hang out with two of my favorite people! This past weekend was beautiful! We went to the park, let Josiah play on his 4-wheeler and played with the dogs in the backyard! Oh how I love warmer weather!!!

Josh and I tried out a new Church this weekend too! It reminded me of the one we went to in Georgia! We are planning to go again soon and hopefully it will become our Church! I am ready to find one and start taking Josiah (which I am nervous about, but that is a whole different post!)
Josiah slept in till 9:00 today so I was very productive. I made chicken salad for Josh's lunch, ironed Josh's work clothes, cleaned the bathroom, washed a load of laundry, and started dinner for tonight. Josh's grandpa and his fiance are headed over tonight to see the house!

Hope everyone is having a great week its half way over!!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!

I woke up to Josiah bringing me a Valentine's day card! He is so sweet! Me and my lil' valentine played outside all day long! Look how gorgeous it was outside! Josh and I don't really do much for Valentine's Day ....just never have! I don't really care for flowers because they make me sneeze and I LOVE chocolate but don't need any!! He washed my car inside and out this weekend and he got me a sweet card this morning! We are staying in tonight and cooking breakfast for dinner! We are going to venture out tomorrow or Thursday for our Valentine's dinner so we aren't with the 56487 other people celebrating!

I hope everyone has a great night! :)

Something to think about...

In the previous post I talked about reading Crazy Love. In the chapter I just read the author said, "In about fifty years no one will remember you. Everyone you know will be dead. Certainly no one will care, what job you had, what car you drove, what school you attended or what clothes you wore...."

Wow! That is so true! Why do we care so much about those things?! i am guilty of this! God isn't going to let you in Heaven because you drive to Yale in a BMW while wearing Prada! (no offense to anyone that has any of that!!)

Just thought I would share!

Random Post

Totally random post! But since I am trying not be on the computer or my phone much I thought I would do a quick update!

I went to Barnes and Nobles one night by myself for some me time! I picked up "Crazy Love" I am really looking forward to reading it! I think I am on the second chapter...so I haven't read very much...but who has time!?
Last week Josh and I went and saw "No Strings Attached" LOVED it! This movie was hilarious and you get to see Ashton's backside..NAKED!
Josiah really enjoys playing on our bed. He usually just plays on it moving the blankets and covers all around..but he decided to take a break and read his new book mommy got him!

Sweet baby Carter and mommy are home and doing great!!!!! I can't wait to get over there and see them!

Today Josh, Josiah and I had a great day! We always have somewhere we have to go or something we have to do. Today we got up hung around, went to Sam's and then HHgreg. We bought us a dyson and I think Josiah thought it was a new toy for him! (he loves to play with vacuums for some reason!) I can't believe we spent that much money on a vacuum but I have used it and have already fallen in love with it! I can't wait to use it again!
After we went shopping we came back and Josiah took a nap and then we headed to OH Snap a little cupcake shop downtown! I have heard so much about this place and have been craving it since the day it opened. I really thought the cupcake was delish but I was a little disappointed when we walked in because most of there "best" cupcakes were sold out. So I settled on a vanilla cupcake with chocolate icing.. Don't get me wrong it was good, but I wish I could have tried one of the specialty ones...I will give them another chance.
Look at the happy little boy! He just puts a smile on my face! We went to my parents' house and had breakfast for dinner! YUM!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!!!!!!
