Believing

This is more for me but I want to remember this forever....

Josiah is spending the night with my parents. My mom called me a little while ago and said....

Mom: Josiah is just too smart.
Me: what did he do this time?!
Mom: Josiah said will Uncle Bobby be able to walk when he gets older? Mom said, "no, he will have to use his walker." Josiah said, "well, when he is with God he will be able to run and play again!"

Me: I was speechless. Tears were in my eyes.

At that moment I felt like we were doing something right. He is absolutely right and I want him to always think that way. As we get older something in us changes and sometimes it harder to believe. I believe and I hope he never loses that that belief. God is good! We may have our problems and be in pain here on Earth but one day we will be healed. If it doesn't happen here on Earth it will happen in Heaven!!! What a smart little guy he is!!! Thanks for the reminder little man!!!!

Connecticut

I'm sitting here rocking Adalyn to sleep and I can't seem to put her down! My heart aches. There is 20 sets of parents that don't have the opportunity to kiss their babies good night. I can't imagine.

They kissed their babies off to school this morning thinking it was a normal Friday. Then some idiot turns this normal Friday into their worst nightmare. I can't imagine getting that phone call. I can't imagine hearing that my child's school had a shooting at it.

Elementary school students and faculty. Some only five years old. That is only two years older than Josiah. They were just babies. Why why why??? Who would want to hurt innocent little ones? Ahhh...it makes me so sad and angry. I just cry thinking about it.

I pray for all the families and friends of the victims. I pray for everyone everywhere. This will effect every person that has a heart. I don't know a single person that was involved in this horrible tragedy but I am devastated.

I am already worried when I leave my babies but this makes it even harder. We don't seem to be safe anywhere anymore. So sad.

Adalyn

I have been totally slacking on keeping updates on Adalyn!

She has two teeth - got them around 4 months!

She went today for her 6 month appointment. She is 28 inches long and weighs 18 pounds 7 oz. She is in the 98th percentile for height and 83rd percentile for weight. Girl is BIG!!!!

She can sit up but you have to be near because she may do a nose dive.

She hates baby food!! You get near her with a spoon and she will turn away in a heartbeat. We are currently working on this.

She was sleeping through the night but once she got her teeth she stopped. I think once she starts eating food she will start sleeping through again.

We stopped swaddling her at night about a month ago and it wasn't too bad.

She is seriously the sweetest baby EVER!!!! We can't get enough of her and her big bro!!!

Baking Day 1

Last Saturday we went over to Josh's Aunt's house and baked a little. It's hard to bake with two littles but we still had a good time!!! Aunt Tammy had bought a ton of stuff to bake with and I don't even think we got halfway through what she wanted to bake! Here are some pictures from that day!

Elf on the Shelf Part 2

Captain Jingles has been having fun in our house!!!

This one is my all time favorite.  A friend text me the other day showing me this and I just had to do it!!!  It was super easy to make and Josiah LOVED it!!!  I made the face out of construction paper and just drew the lines on there.  The pants I made out of old underwear!  Hey, you gotta use what you have around the house and that is all we could think of!  Haha!  Then the spider on the shirt I just used construction paper again and drew a spider that looked like the spider on Spiderman!  Josiah was so excited when he saw him hanging from our laundry room door.  He ran straight to his room and dressed up like Spiderman!

Check out our other ideas here

Captain Jingles

Josiah is on a Cheerios kick so I bought him some today at the store so I thought it would be perfect to use for the Elf on the shelf tonight! Nothing too fancy but here are some pictures!

This morning Josiah was excited to see Captain Jingles and to get his police stuff back. I thought it was funny because Captain Jingles fell off the police car and Josiah started to almost cry because he wanted to pick him up but knew he wasn't supposed to touch him. I told him that moms could touch the elves without them losing their magical powers to fly!

This is so much fun!!

Elf on the Shelf

I finally went to Barnes and Nobles and got the Elf on the Shelf! I don't know who is more excited...me or Josiah!!

We read the book and the book numerous times and then Josiah named him. He really wanted to name him Captain America but I vetoed that!! I compromised and we named him Captain Jingles!

Josiah recently got all of his costumes/dress up clothes taken away because he was bad. Today he was a little better so I let Captain Jingles bring back his policeman uniform. Captain Jingles left a note saying that he heard that Josiah had been good so he talked mommy and daddy into letting him give back his police stuff. Captain Jingles also wrote that if he continued to be good he was sure that he would get the rest of his dress up stuff back and he would also tell Santa how good he was!!! Hopefully Josiah will be excited in the morning!!! We will see!

Adalyn's 4 month pictures

Adalyn is almost 6 months old but I haven't had the chance to post her 4 month pictures yet!  It was nap time and she didn't want to smile for us!  They still turned out awesome!  Thanks to Jaime!!!  Here are a few of them!

Jaime also did our family pictures recently.  Once our Christmas cards go out the door I will post those!  They turned out great too!

Thanksgiving MDO

Last Thursday Josiah had a "play" at Mother's Day Out. They were supposed to sing a song or two and then eat thanksgiving lunch! There were tons of people there.

The many costumes of Josiah

Saying Josiah loves to dress up is an understatement! He changes all throughout the day. I'm talking like 15 times per hour! It's ridiculous but I've come to realize this is what he does!!! So here are a few pictures of his many costumes but not all of them! The best costumes are the ones he makes up by himself! They boy has an imagination.

Ears part II

My last post was about ears (Adalyn got her ears pierced!)  This time, it wasn't such a cute thing that happened.  They both ended with the same result though...crying..

Last night we put Josiah down around 7:30.  He went to bed fine.

Around 9:30 Josh and I were about to turn on the computer to watch some t.v. (we don't have cable anymore because all of the shows we watch can be watched on the internet) and I hear some whining.  At first I thought it was Adalyn but then we heard it again and quickly realized it was Josiah.  We ran into his room where he proceeded to scream bloody murder.  I automatically go into panic mode.  We try to calm him down but he won't even speak to us. :(  My mind is running wild thinking the worst things.  Finally between Josh and myself we got him to calm down enough for him to hear us.  We asked him what hurt and he pointed to his ear.  He was in so much pain we decided to give him some Tylenol and take him to the ER.  Mom came over to watch little bit while Josh and I took him.  We got in quickly and it didn't take long to find out that he had his first ear infection.

The Tylenol must have kicked in pretty quickly because he was full of energy while we sat at CVS at midnight to fill his prescriptions.  He is such a trooper!

First ER visit and first ear infection.  I know we will probably make many trips to the ER because he is all boy but I hope our next one is way in the future.

Ears

We took Adalyn to get her ears pierced this weekend! I felt horrible. She cried. Everyone looked at me like I was this worse mommy ever!! But she was fine a few seconds after and she looks even more beautiful if that is even possible!!!!!

Halloween

This year Josiah dressed up as Captain America and Adalyn was a ghost. Aunt P makes chilly for us every year and they come over. We walked around the neighborhood and Josiah had a great time!! At first he tried to hand out candy that he had in his bucket to the people at the door but he quickly realized that they were supposed to be giving him candy!! Ha!!
