I GOT A TICKET.....

....and I'm not talking about a ticket to see Kieth Urban....

I'm talking a SPEEDING TICKET!

I have never had a speeding ticket, better yet, I have never even been pulled over. On our way to Pensacola yesterday we had 30 miles left. Josiah was upset because we had been in the car for 5 hours and his tooth was hurting him. Josh was in the back with him and I was trying to tell Josh how to console Josiah. Well, the speed limit was 65 so I was going 70 and I did not pay attention to the fact that the speed limit was already decreasing (it goes from 65 to 55 to 45 real quick in that area) I looked up and I saw the cop and just knew I was going to be pulled over..sure enough he turned on his lights and pulled me over.

I just knew he wasn't going to give me a ticket so I was calm, he asked me for my ID and then came back with a nice big fat ticket. Hello?!?! Did he not care that I had never got a ticket before? Apparently that doesn't matter! He could have hooked me up with 60 in a 45 and not 70 in a 45....man did that make me mad! I'm not even sure how much the ticket is going to be, but I'm sure its going to be very expensive.

Even though that ruined my night I am looking forward to our weekend here with family and friends!

I think tomorrow Joshy and I are headed out for a date! I can't wait to spend some time with him!

A little bit of this..a little bit of that

We have thought many different times that Josiah was teething. He drools a lot off and on and he is always chewing on everything! Well he is finally getting his first tooth! It starting coming through on Tuesday. He isn't as cranky as I thought he would be - thank goodness!Josiah's new favorite hang out is in the kitchen! He loves to play with the cabinet and the plastic containers.

We have been packing all night long to go to Pensacola tomorrow! I can't wait to see family and friends! I say all night, but I did take a break to go to Cold Stone to get Josh and I some ice cream (definitely not on the diet) but we thought we deserved it! It was delicious but we both regretted it afterwards..oh well!

Well, I am off to finish laundry and then going to bed. We are headed out of town around lunch!!! YAY!

He is amazes me

He is amazes me.

Last night I actually had time to sit down and right in my journal. I used to do this a lot, but I haven't had much quiet time lately. In this journal I write my prayers (I still have been praying just not writing them down). Anyway, I was done writing in my journal and decided I would open my journal to a random page and see what I had wrote that day....

The date on the journal entry was November 12, 2008. I won't go into everything I wrote about that day, but I will point out one particular thing....I wrote..Lord, please let me know we have made the right decision to go with Bethany Christian Services for this adoption. I know that this is going to be a wonderful experience, but I also know that there will be some tough times. Please be with us as we go through this process. I know You have our perfect child already picked out for us and we cannot wait to meet him/her.

I know God is great, but looking back and seeing how He answered our prayers just amazes me. It amazes me that 8 months later, we had our perfect child that God had picked out for us. God led us to Bethany Christian Services for a reason and we chose to go through that company for a reason!

After I read this prayer that I wrote a little over a year ago, I got real excited about our future. We don't know what is going to happen in our lives, but God does and I trust Him. I trust that He has great plans for us.

Our perfect child!

7 months old

This is what we go through now when we try to get one good picture!!! Haha! He is so funny! I know I'm late as usual, but Josiah turned 7 months old on February 15th. We didn't have to go to the doctor this month so I'm not sure how much he weighs or his height but he is HUGE!!! He is so sweet and so much fun to be around. He is eating so much these days and growing like a weed. He is eating every 4 hours. (he eats about 7-8 ounces and one jar of baby food). His favorites are green beans, carrots, and pears! He is not sleeping so great at night, but like I said in my post below we are working on that and hope that he is by next week! He is getting into everything and I love it!! He seems to be less frusturated now that he can get around without my help.

Josiah started pulling up on the couch today and started cruising around it! I swear the boy is growing up too fast! Can someone make him stop?! Just for a little while?!

We are so blessed and so thankful that God put him into our lives 7 months ago!

We have a CRAWLER!!!

Josiah has been trying to crawl for the past week or so! We woke up Saturday and this little guy was crawling all over the place! It is so much fun seeing him explore everything. He loves to open/close the doors and cabinets and he loves to play with the little door stoppers. I think that his new favorite thing!! He is just soo much fun!

On another note, he still isn't sleeping through the night, but we are working on this!! Hopefully he will soon, I am ready for a good night of sleep!

Missing

The pictures below are from 2006....but I miss my family... ....my girlfriends..... (and the beach!)

....and all of these guys too......Josh and I have moved a lot since these pictures were taken....we have been away from Pensacola for almost 4 years and I miss everyone. I miss having girls night, I miss going to dinner at mom and dad's, I miss going to family gatherings and I miss hanging out with "our group".

Don't get me wrong, we have grown a lot from being away and have met some really awesome people that I wouldn't trade for anything, but I wish we could move back home!!!!!

I guess I am having a pity party today!

Book on Sleeping

I got this book yesterday and read it in an hour! It has a lot of helpful tools in it and I hope we can get Josiah to sleep through the night soon. It says that the baby has to be on a four hour eating schedule before you can start it, so we are working our way there and then we will begin it!

This is what we have been dealing with while trying to change Josiah's diapers. He use to be so easy to change and now he just wants to roll, roll, roll! It is a little aggravating, but I had to laugh and grab my camera!

I miss HIM!

Last week Josh went out of town for the whole week so I went to Pensacola! Had a blast, but missed him!

Wednesday Josh went back out of town and I stayed here at the house by myself with Josiah. Josiah and I have had a good time, but I miss him!

He will be back tonight and I can't wait to see his sweet face!

Eight

Eight is the number of hours Josiah slept the night before last. He woke up once and then went back to sleep for four more hours. Woohoo I was so excited!

I think I am going to get a book that Heather suggested called Twelve Hours Sleep by Twelve Weeks: A Step by Step Plan for Baby Sleep Success by Suzy Giordano and see if this helps us.

6 Months Old

I am so behind on posting so I thought I would just start with Josiah's 6 month appointment. He weighed 17 pounds 15 ounces and was 28 inches long! The doctor said everything looked great! A few days after his 6 month check up he got his very first cold :(. It was so sad knowing something was wrong with him, but there wasn't much I could do! He is finally feeling better and back to his happy self again! Before he got sick he was eating anything and everything, but he is just now starting back on baby food. (he wouldn't eat it while he was sick) He is beginning to have such a little personality and he is so much fun! He still is NOT sleeping through the night, but is getting better and we are working on this. Hopefully he will sleep a little bit better now that he is eating baby food again. He has just started getting up on his knees and rocking back and forth, so maybe he will be crawling soon?!?! I love watching him learn new things, its just so cool to me! Well, hopefully I will be posting more now, and hopefully I will get my laptop back real soon!

I have a reason....

I have a reason why it has been so long! First we were extremely busy with traveling for the holidays and then Josh broke my laptop! We have a desktop computer but it is harder to use with a busy little boy! I have tons of new pictures, but I am being lazy while Josiah naps (my camera is in my car) so here are a few pictures from 2 months ago that we had made. I promise to post pictures of Josiah and his 6 month update soon!
