It's official!

We are officially Josiah's mom and dad! Yesterday we had to go down to the courthouse and make our adoption final! This picture was taken with the judge that pronounced us as Josiah's mom and dad! She was so sweet! She wanted to hold Josiah - she said that the adoption finalizations were her favorite time of the day! (she had been doing criminal cases all morning)

In other news, Josiah turned 5 months old yesterday! I will be posting about that probably tomorrow. Josiah had to get a shot yesterday that they didn't have at his 4 month check up so he is not a happy camper today!

90 miles/hour

Do you ever feel like your brain just will not quit going 90 miles per hour?! That is how I feel the last couple of days. I feel like I have so much to do for the Holidays! Every year I tell myself that I will not wait until the last minute to finish up shopping....well, what did I do this year??? WAIT till the last minute!! Josh, Josiah and I went out yesterday and got a lot of our shopping done. I know shopping with a 4 month old...CRAZY! But actually he did really good! I still have a few more things I have to buy, but at least I know what I want! I still don't feel accomplished though because most of my gifts I purchased online, so I don't have them on hand yet. Hopefully they will get here soon!!!!

We have our Growth Group Christmas party on Wednesday and I can't wait! It is a "tacky sweater" party. Josh and I went to the Goodwill to try to find a sweater but we never found one. We found a few sweaters at other places but I refuse to pay $15-20 on something I will wear only once. We were at Target and we found the "perfect" thing to wear! I will post pictures later this week!

On a different note......TUESDAY is going to be the BEST day EVER!!!!! Our adoption will be FINAL! I am so excited and I can't wait for the judge to pronounce us as his parents!!!! We don't need the judge to tell us that but it will be official then!

Well, I hope everyone had an awesome weekend! We have been super lazy today and are just watching football (my favorite thing! --sarcasm)

Christmas Cards

Trying to get a cute picture of Josiah is not HaRd...but trying to get a really good one to put on our Christmas card is hard....I took several...here are a few that did not make it on the card!

He is just so stinking cute! I can't wait for our first Christmas as a family!!! Hopefully Josh and I will get to finish up our Christmas shopping this weekend! Every year I say I am not going to wait until the last minute, but here it is 2 weeks away and I have tons of stuff still to buy. Oh well!

Sunday we took Josiah to his first Philadelphia Eagles game here in Atlanta! I was so impressed how well he did! We went with Matt, Amanda, Mike and Katie! We had a great time and can't wait until we get to go to another one! They won so it was even better for Josiah's first game!!!

((Thanksgiving))

We went to Pensacola for Thanksgiving! Thursday morning Josh, Josiah and I got up and went over to Josh's parents house. We ate around 12 and then we had to go to their neighbors to say hi (and eat a lil' more!) After we left the neighbors we went to my aunt and uncle's to eat around 4. I love going back home and spending time with friends and family, but it always makes me want to move back! - Maybe one day! Friday night Josh and I went to the Crabtrap to eat with some friends and then just went home! Saturday we went with my parents to pick out a Christmas tree. We only looked at 2 trees and found the one we wanted. I think mom was a little disappointed that it went so quickly! After that we went over to Josh's mom and dad's and had dinner with them. I had Josh drop me off at Jaime's house because we were going to do "game night". It was fun, Rachel, Lindsay, Jaime, Crystal and Jordan came and we hung out for awhile and then we went over to Crystal's and the boys joined us! Sunday we got up and headed back to Georgia! :( We won't be going to Florida again until Christmas.

4 Months

Josiah is 4 months old!

He weighs 15 pounds 1 oz.
He is 25 1/2 inches long

Started NOT sleeping through the night :( (we are working on this)Josiah is so curious and gets so frusturated because he can't do something
We started feeding him pears every once in awhile and he LOVES them!!
He doesn't like to take naps, but is getting better at it

Jumperoo

This weekend we really didn't do too much...Josh's mom and dad came into town so we just spent the whole weekend with them.

They decided to give Josiah his Christmas present early! Josiah loves to bounce up and down while we hold him so they thought it was a good idea to get a jumper!

He liked being in it for about 10-15 minutes and then he was done. (he is very spoiled) He doesn't get the concept of jumping yet, but he is very smart so I'm sure it won't take him too long!

This weekend we also got family/baby pictures taken! I can't wait to see how they turned out. The lady that took them does great work!

--Date Night--

Josh and I have not gone out on a date by ourselves since Josiah was born! So, this weekend while my aunt and uncle were in town they watched Josiah while we went out. We went to Maggiono's and then went over to the Cheesecake Factory. We had a blast, but were miserable from eating so much!

We missed our little guy, but it is nice to go out together. The next day my aunt and uncle told us that he cried for an hour after we left - thank goodness they didn't tell me while we were out or I'm sure I would have turned around and came back home!

Tonight our growth group from church is having guys/girls night out. My uncle is still here so he is going to watch Josiah while Josh goes to Johnny's and I go to Longhorns. Hopefully Josiah is better for him tonight! :)

{{Halloween}} and the Weekend

We really didn't do too much for Halloween! My aunt and uncle were in town so we dressed Josiah up as Tigger and then handed out candy! We had a lot more kids this year.

On Sunday we went to Ellijay to the apple orchards and then just drove around. It is absolutely beautiful here this time of year - the trees are so colorful and I just love it!

I can't believe I am going to post this......

......but since this precious little bright eyed boy does NOT like to take very long naps....

.....this is what my laundry room looks like.... I know...I'm crazy for putting this online, but I needed to do this so that I would hurry up and clean it up!!! Josiah takes 30 minute naps here and there and by the time I start to clean he is awake! Hopefully tonight I will get it all done.

Finalization

We received something from our attorney's office yesterday letting us know that our adoption will be FINAL on December 15, 2009!!! What a great early Christmas present! We have been waiting for this day for 3 months and can't wait to celebrate! We are so blessed to be Josiah's parents!

Birthday Celebration

This year I turned the big 2-5! I woke up Thursday morning and Josh had me a present so I opened it and it was an Philadelphia Eagles jersey and some peanut butter M&Ms! This birthday was full of surprises...

SURPRISE #1 - Josh came home for lunch Thursday to hang out with us on my birthday!

SURPRISE #2 - Josh brought home another gift for me at lunch time which was a LAPTOP!

SURPRISE #3 - Lindsay and Crystal (some of my best friends from Pensacola) drove all night Friday night to be here and surprise me Saturday morning!

SURPRISE #4 - We were going to get pedicures and go shopping all day!!!!!

Friday my mom, dad, and brother came up to celebrate my birthday and then we went to Stone Mountain on Sunday.

Our Little Punkin'

Isn't he the cutest lil' punkin ever!?!?We went to Uncle Shuck's pumpkin patch last Sunday with our Growth Group from church. It was pretty cold out, but we had tons of fun. We rode the hay ride and Josiah fell asleep on it!

3 Months Old

Little man is doing great!!! We didn't have to take him to the doctor this month (thank goodness, that means no shots!) but that means we don't have height or weight. Josh and i weighed him and he is 13 pounds 2 oz. He is starting to have a little personality and is soo stinkin' cute! He smiles all the time and is even giggling a little! He loves to eat and he has been sleeping so good!

2 Months Old

I am super late on posting this, but we have been really busy.....

We took Josiah for his 2 month check up and he now weighs 12 pounds 4 ounces and is 23 1/2 inches long! Josiah is still wearing size 1 diapers and he is wearing 0-3 month old clothes, depending on the brand! He is so strong - holding his head up and he loves to stand up! He smiles a lot now (which melts my heart!!) He is just growing up wayyy to fast! Josiah is sleeping about 7 hours through the night and then he gets up and eats and goes back to sleep for a few hours. He hates taking naps during the day..which we are working on!

Where there is love there is life...

Ok...since I totally forgot that Josiah's 2 month check up was yesterday at 9:30 instead of 3:30, I thought I would post a few pictures! I love these boys, and I love my life! Thank you God for everything you have given me!

Josiah's 2 month check up was reschedule for next Friday, so hopefully I will blog about that next weekend!

First Road Trip

Last weekend Josh and I took Josiah on his first road trip to Pensacola!!!! He did so good on the way there - we only had to stop once! (which is what we do anyway) Friday we just stayed at Granny and Pop's becuase we got in late. Saturday we went and saw the great grandparents on my side. Sunday we ate breakfast at Grandma and Grandpa's and then we had a meet and greet party with all of our friends and family Sunday night! So many people came and fell in love with Josiah! It is so great to have such wonderful friends and family!

Since it was Labor Day weekend we didn't have to leave until Monday. Well....Josh and I had already planned to go back the next weekend so my sweet husband let Josiah and I stay in Pensacola the WHOLE week--Man he is the best! I promised Josh that I would send him tons of pictures. Josiah and I had a really good time hanging out with everyone, but we were ready to see Daddy again!

Today we left Pensacola and headed back!!!!!!!!! Josiah was still very good on the way back, but we had to stop a few more times so we could feed him. I was sad to leave, since we won't be back until Thanksgiving, but I am glad to be back home.

1 Month Old

I'm a little late on posting about Josiah being a month old...We took him to the doctor on Tuesday August 18th.

Weight: 9 lbs 10 oz
Height: 21 3/4 inches long

The doctor said everything looked great! He had to get his 2nd Hepatitis shot, which was so sad! We also took him that day because his belly was still hurting. They told us since he wasn't acting much different on the Alimentum then we could go back to Similac Advanced. So I decided to switch to the Similac Advanced and man was that a mistake! He cried and cried and cried...so needless to say we are back on the Similac Alimentum and he is doing much better!!!! WE will be broke from purchasing it, but it is well worth it if he feels better!

Anyway, on a fun note...Josiah has started smiling and he has even been rolling over when we put him on his tummy! He is growing so fast!
