STOP

Sometimes you just have to stop everything, look around, and enjoy this moment.  This life.  Life gets so busy sometimes and we get wrapped up in our busy lives and forget to treasure the special moments.

If something were to happen to me today I could honestly say I love my life and the people in it.  With that being said...nothing is perfect, I have my problems, my insecurities, bad days, but all in all I love this life God has given me.  It hasn't always been that way, but I have made changes and life is good.  Life is way to short not to enjoy it.

Take one minute and stop what you are doing and see that you have so much to be thankful for.

AG 2 Months

We took Adalyn to her appointment on Wednesday!  She is 11 pounds 14 oz and 25 inches long!! (Josiah was 12 lbs 4 oz and was 24 1/2 inches long..check it out here..) I can't believe she has gained 5 pounds and 5 inches since she was born!!!  She is such a great baby!!  I don't want to brag too much because I don't want to jinx anything, but let's just say she sleeps way better than Josiah ever did!  We are truly blessed.  She is in 0-3 clothes and size 1 diapers.  She drinks 4-5 oz of formula every 3 hours until she goes to bed.  She still sleeps a ton during the day, but we enjoy her sweet smiles while she is awake.  I love watching her learn new things.  Josiah is still so good with her!  I hope that lasts forever...haha!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

Truck and Alligators

Friday night we went over to Rach's house and hung out with some friends.  It was such a good time!  I love when Josiah can play with other kids. I wish I would have taken some pictures but Amber did get one of Cooper and Josiah I just wish Presley, Mady and Adalyn would have been in it too.  They all played so good together!!!!

Josh found a truck online that he wanted to look at so we loaded up and headed over to Alabama.  (FYI- car shopping with two kids is not fun!! haha!)  He saw it and fell in love with it but they wouldn't give him the deal he wanted.  We went to get lunch and they called with the deal that he wanted.  We headed over to the splash park for Josiah but they had turned the water off so I shopped a little bit.  I got two shirts and Josh got a truck.....what am I doing wrong!!  Haha!

I am so proud of him!  He deserves this truck.  He has been driving my old car from high school around for six years.  He worked so hard for this truck and I love that we were able to buy it for him!!

After signing the papers on the truck we rushed home to head to a Blue Wahoos game.  Josh's Aunt had four tickets that she wasn't using so we took Rach and Bryan!  It was our first one and we will definitely be going back.

At their Saturday games they do fireworks after the game.  This was seriously one of the best firework shows I have seen!  I can't believe they do it every Saturday.  Next time we are going to take Josiah, I think he would have fun!

Sunday we headed back over to Alabama to Alligator Alley.  Josiah likes alligators and this was perfect for him.  It was a little too hot but we enjoyed it.  There is over 21 acres of land with 400 alligators on it.  Some of them were HUGE.

Adalyn enjoyed the car ride over with Granny talking to her!  She is smiling a ton now and is so stinkin' cute!!!!

Hope y'all enjoyed your weekend!  We did!!  We have a busy week with Josh having finals!  One more semester and he will be done with his Masters!!!!!

Josiah's "quirks"

I don't know if it is every three year old but Josiah is totally weird sometimes!!! Haha!  I love him with my whole heart but he has some funny "quirks" he does.

  • He can't stand for his hair to be hot.
  • He doesn't like to get messy at all. (sometimes when I ask him what he wants to eat he bases it off of if he will get messy or not!)
  • His shirt can't be too big.
  • His shorts can't be too long.
  • He puts his shoes on right when he gets up in the morning.
  • Every time he walks by Adalyn he has to kiss her and hold her hand!!!
  • He has to have short socks.
  • He wears tennis shoes 99% of the time.  AND they have to be his orange ones.
  • He would literally wear the same pair of shorts over and over and over if I would let him.  (and might I add they are the shorts that I like the least)
  • If he gets the tiniest drop of water/juice/whatever that makes his clothes wet...he totally freaks out.

He is so funny these days.  I love everything about him, but some of these are about to drive me crazy!  Especially the clothes issue.  I have been letting him wear whatever he wants to around the house..but when he starts school in August its going to be tough!  I really hope he isn't going to be OCD.  Maybe this is just a phase and he will grow out of most of them soon, well except the whole kissing Adalyn thing.  They are just too precious!! :)

If you really knew me..

You would know that God and my family are my passion.
-if you are a friend of mine, you fit into the family category.  I would do anything for the people I love.

You would know that I believe in miracles.
-I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for God perfoming a miracle!

You would know that I am shy around new people.

You would know that I love rap music.
-Although, I don't listen to it much because I don't want Josiah going around singing "Apple bottom jeans"

You would know I sometimes put on that I am harcore, but really I am a softy.

You would know that I hate to clean.
-I love a clean house, but I would much rather play cars with Josiah or talk baby talk to Adalyn!

You would know I love to take pictures.
-But I rarely get them developed.  I am working on this though.

You would know that I am fearful of someone close to me dying.
-I haven't ever had anyone really really close to me pass away and this totally freaks me out.

You would know that I am a worrier.
-Most big issues I can give to God, but I have a hard letting God deal with the little problems.

You would know that as I get older I am finding out what is really important in life and I am loving life more and more!

Josiah's Birthday Part 2

Josiah's birthday was on a Sunday this year!  We left Josiah's present out in the living room so when he woke up he would see it!!!  This boy is obsessed with policemen/jail.  He was in heaven once he realized this was for him!!

I made him pancakes for breakfast and lit a candle for him to blow out!  He loved it!

This year his party was on his actual birthday!  We usually do Saturday birthdays but his birthday fell on the day that the Blue Angels were flying on the beach and a lot of our friends/family go to watch them so we thought it was better to move it to Sunday!

The past two years we have had his party at my parents' house.  They have a pool and we attempted pool parties but every year it has rained so I decided this year I wouldn't take the chance of not being able to swim. We had it here at a "bounce house" place.  AND guess what??  It was sunny!!  Haha..it always works out that way doesn't it?  That's okay though because we had a great time!  The best part was I didn't really have to do anything!!  I brought a few decorations but not much and the party people at the bounce place did everything!!!

I got these cute little construction hats from Amazon.com and the little aprons I bought at Home Depot.  They were so cute!

Josiah had a great birthday party and we are so blessed!!  Thank you to everyone that made his day so special!!!

Chicken Bacon Ranch Taquitos

It seems like it has been forever since I cooked.  I haven't done much of it since Adalyn was born.  Unless if you count popping some corn dogs in the oven cooking.  Josh and I have been feeling awful from the lack of health food so we decided it was time to go grocery shopping and have a somewhat of a healthy meal plan.  I saw this recipe on Pinterest the other night and thought it sounded amazing!!!

It was so easy and quick to make and you can even freeze them and have them another night.  I didn't know how they were going to turn out so I made half a batch.  I also made my own version of this.

Here is my version (click above for the actual recipe):

2 cans of chicken (in water)  {the actually recipe calls for shredding chicken, but when you are cooking dinner and worrying about kids you don't have time for all that!!}
1/2 stick of cream cheese softened ( (I used Neufchatel cheese)
bacon bits  {actual recipe calls for real bacon, but as I said earlier..I didn't have time to fry up some bacon}
1/2 packet of dry ranch dressing mix
1 cup of pepper jack cheese  {actual recipe called for Monterrey jack cheese, but I thought this gave it some more flavor}
10 - 6 inch tortilla shells
non-stick cooking spray

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

Make sure your cream cheese is soft.  I just threw mine in the microwave for a few seconds.  Mix in chicken, bacon bits, cheese and ranch mix.

Spray cookie sheet.  I then used a cookie scoop to scoop my chicken mixture on my tortilla shell.  I used two big scoops but the recipe calls for 2-3 tbls.  Roll the shells up and put the opening part down on the cookie sheet.  Repeat until all the mixture is gone.

Spray the tops of the tortilla shells with non-stick cooking spray.

Put in the oven for about 10 minutes.

They turned out so good that I brought some leftovers for lunch today!!!  This will be on our future meal plans!
